Hey guys. Awesome work!
Here's my take on "The Beardman"(am I the only one to do this guy?). I decided to leave this one painterly because I kinda just liked it "as is". So with a few days left I wanted to take a crack at our own International Man of Mystery!! (Jason). I didn't get quite 100% done with it but I plan to come back to it sometime....maybe after we're done with lesson 9 ...lol!

your painting skills are pretty incredible. What program is this? It has a different look from photoshop, maybe just how you use it.
"Mathew" looks like he's all small, looking up at someone. Likeness is great.
I would love to get some tips from you on your painting process, working the lines into the values.

Good stuff Mark. I started off with this guy first but couldn't quite get past the beard. This is really nice. I like the look.
Thanks guys! Jon I use Painter instead of Photoshop. You can get a "painterly" look in either but Painter's preset brushes are organized more traditionally into chalks, pastels, oils, watercolor etc. So it's just a little easier for me to create traditional looks. But I know some great artists that create really painterly stuff in PS you just need to know how to customize the brushes - and I'm lazy that way....

Your paintings were my favorite this week. I thought the one of Jason had such a dark and sinister look to it. Really great stuff.
