marilyn again


This is my current Marilyn although it could all change.

I'm not sure if this is my preliminary final sketch or my last study for my initial final sketch or my last final outline final sketch......Help!

I'll say straight off that the lips need work, they simply dont look like womens lips but like one of those comedy routines you see on tv where talking lips is superimposed over a photograph. You took on a great challenge by doing a pretty woman. I almost never try to draw a woman with fashion model features as its just to easy to mess up, if you get the curves wrong it can end up looking like a man.

You're right, I've modified the lips. I am on a knife edge with the caricature, like you say, its really easy to slip into grossness with this.
