Quick Cafe Sketch Video! (Jason Seiler)

Hello everyone, wanted to share something a bit different, thought it would be fun to watch. These are some sketches I did really quick while sitting at Pollo Loco, Chipotles and the Emergency Room . . . . my daughter was really sick last week, was at the doctors quite a bit, she's much better now! These are really fun to do because the people I'm sketching don't even consider that I may be drawing them. They see a laptop and think I'm typing or something of the sort . . . even still, people do not sit still for any great length of time, the first two I drew got up and left in the middle of me sketching . . . I know, rude right? The music is Wilco, enjoy!

Those are awesome. I've often thought of taking my laptop in Starbucks or somewhere similar to do some sketching but really don't want people to figure out what I'm doing. Do you put your tablet on top of your keyboard or something?

Wow, nice! Were you using a tablet or one of those new 12" Cintiqs?

Jason uses a tablet PC if I'm not mistaken...you can just draw on the screen.

What software are you using to capture the video, Jason?

Thanks everyone!!! I use a toshiba M400, it's really cool . . . you can draw and paint on the screen. I recently ordere the 21" Cintiq, will have that soon . . . I CAN'T WAIT . . . WATCH OUT . . . MY STUFF IS GOING TO EVOLVE, I CAN FEEL IT!!! I'm using camtasia to record . . . . I don't know much more than that . . . I'm not really a computer person.

I was going to get the new portable Cintiq...but it was either that or this course. :)

I think I chose wisely...now I'll just save for the Cintiq.

Yeah, I had to make that same decision... I compromised, signed for the April 29 course and bought a 6x11 widescreen tablet. :-)

Well Patrick, now it's time to spoil yourself and get that Cintiq, you deserve it! And welcome aboard Brett! A musician eh? ME too . . . . I've been in tons of bands, been on record labels toured . . . . toured like crazy . . . the whole 9 yards . . . talk with you soon.

Yep, Jason, I play lead guitar and compose... might even be doing some score work for some animated films in the very near future. Looking forward to your class!

The Cintiqu is an amazng piece of equipment. I hardly use paper anymore and my scanner sits in a plastic bag in my closet just in case I need it again. It's a worth while investment for any artsit that works on deadlines. It's a Tax write off too!

I also have a Toshiba Tablet PC...It's just OK. I would wait another year or two when they perfect the technology. It's cool and all but the refletion on the screen makes you crazy.
