Rickman Final

Man, I had fun with this one! This turned out better than I hoped it would. Don't get me wrong, I know there's always room for improvement and I'll likely be dissatisfied with this in a month, but for now...I'm pleased.

Unbelievable. I was speaking to the coats definition. The pallet was a great choice for the subject.

Thanks, Doug. The muted palette was a tough call, but I'm glad I did it that way.

Your critique about the coat earlier was quite accurate. Hopefully I've got enough definition in the coat now that it isn't blurry.

Superb rendering, great result. It needs a really first class greyscale picture to get that result , which you had to start.

Awesome, Patrick! The hand could be a little tighter, to bring it up to the standard of the face. Hands are my main problem.

The wings are incredible. Nice job!

Very recognizable and great job on the feathers.

Thanks, folks.

Dan: Jason said the same thing about the hand...something I'll have to remember to be aware of in future pieces. Thanks!

Nice one Patrick:) Most of all I liked how the tensed face contrasts with the wings because of the whole storytelling thing that happens because of that:) I am always attracted by the quality of the dialogue between contrasts in a piece of art.
